A ROOM OF ONE’S OWN
INVESTIGATION OF THE HUMAN SCALE, 2020, A Void
The Room of One’s Own is a space created out of my specific movement patterns throughout the day where I tracked my time commitments ranging from schoolwork, hobbies and night. This activity explores the spatial relationship between four specific activities: school, reading, exercise, and sleeping and what body movements govern the form of the building. The project is randomly placed in a 7 by 7-meter grid with my other peers. The Room of One’s Own has 2 points of access to my neighboring grid mates and creates different programs between the grid like a talking space or a walking path. The project allows for work, rest, activity, and relaxation all in one small space.
